JOSH Landscape Co. began with a push mower and an entrepreneurial spirit.

Founder Josh Schmieder started mowing lawns as a teenager to earn extra money. What began as a small side job quickly grew as neighbors recognized his work ethic and attention to detail. Before long, Josh hired his first employee and was running the business out of his parents’ garage—laying the foundation for what would eventually become one of the region’s most respected landscape companies.

In 2002, Josh briefly considered joining an established landscaping firm. But after a few uninspiring interviews, he realized something important: the industry needed a better standard. Rather than settling, he chose to continue building his own company—one grounded in professionalism, strong customer relationships, and a commitment to doing things the right way.

From the beginning, JOSH Landscape Co. was built on a clear set of values: respect, quality, integrity, relationships, profitability, and teamwork. Josh envisioned a company that would elevate the landscaping industry by combining thoughtful design, skilled craftsmanship, and a team that truly cares about its clients.

Today, JOSH Landscape Co. has grown from those humble beginnings into a full-service outdoor design-build firm with more than 150 team members, including designers, landscape architects, craftsmen, and support staff. Together, we design and build outdoor environments that bring beauty, function, and lasting value to the homes we serve.

In 2019, we expanded our capabilities with the launch of PropertyCare, a dedicated division focused on landscape maintenance and commercial property services. This addition allows us to support both residential and commercial clients with the same level of professionalism and care.

While our company has grown, our mission remains the same: to create exceptional, high-quality outdoor spaces while delivering an experience our clients can trust.
